I’ve long been drawn to composing and performing ambient music. Like many, I started with software, where the entire sonic universe was just a plugin away. But that sheer abundance quickly became overwhelming. As in many creative disciplines, though, limitation is key.
For a long time, I focused on Omnisphere and a few trusted devices in Ableton Live. But in the recent 8-10 years, I’ve found that hardware offers something very different: an invitation to explore with more focus, intention, and, often, a beautiful sense of minimalism.
